The episode starts out with a recap of recent events (from Like A Hurricane). Then we see Caitlin and Sonny on an airliner. Filming location unknown.

Then we see a series of stock footage from California to establish Sonny and Caitlin as having arrived in California.

First we see a view looking south at downtown L.A. from the peak of Elysian Park Drive.

Then looking north up at the Hollywood sign.

Then we see the Capital Records building. 1750 Vine Street, Los Angeles.

Then Gruman’s Chinese Theater. 6931 Hollywood Boulevard, L.A.

Then, location unknown.

Then the NE corner of Hollywood and Vine.

Followed by a shot going north up Vine Street toward Capital Records away from Hollywood Blvd., outside 1708 Vine Street.

Then we jump over to the Rainbow Bar and Grill, 9015 West Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood.

Then an establishing shot of the Hyatt House filmed on location at, 8401 Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood.

Then we see Sonny and Caitlin arrive in “Hollywood”. In reality this was filmed on location in Coral Gables at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 50 Alhambra Plaza.

Then they go inside for a press conference. Filmed on location inside the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 50 Alhambra Plaza, Coral Gables. Special thanks to matt5 at miamiviceonline.com for the re-creation photo below right.

Then we see the standard season 4 opening montage.

Then we see Sonny and Caitlin inside their hotel room. This appears to have been filmed on location on the 14th floor of the Hyatt Regency in Coral Gables but I have not confirmed this yet nor tracked down the exact room. Location unconfirmed.

Then we go to a party. This was mostly filmed on location at the Dezerland Surfside Beach Hotel, 8701 Collins Ave., North Miami Beach.

Then we cut to Sonny and Caitlin’s hotel. The first shot of the pool was filmed on location at the Hyatt in Coral Gables.

Then we cut inside their room. This was filmed on set inside Greenwich Studios. The background backdrop is especially fuzzy with today’s high def. screens.

Freemont and Wiggins go for a drive. Here we learn that their normal cooking the books with fake cost will not be enough to make them happy. They have to keep her from touring to really score. Location unknown.

Then we see Sonny drop Caitlin off as he goes to the airport. Filming location unknown. Based on the pattern seen reflected in the background this unknown location was also likely used as the consulate in episode 16, Rites Of Passage.

Rites of Passage

We see a brief shot of stock footage of an airliner above the clouds. Then we see Tubbs has picked up Crockett at the airport and is giving him a ride on NW 21st Street toward NW 39th Ave. This is re-used footage that we first saw in When Irish Eyes Are Crying and then again in Shadow In The Dark.

Then they drive thru a residential area but the shots are too tight to determine their location. Location unknown.

Then we see Tubbs pay Sonny a visit at the Crockett’s home. Location unknown.

Then we go inside the OCB, filmed on set at Greenwich Studios.

Then we see the National Inquisitor is onto Sonny. Unknown filming location.

Then we see Sonny inside the OCB (set) and on the phone with Caitlin. She was filmed at Criteria Recording Studios, 1755 NE 149th Street, North Miami.
